So You Wanna Be In TV? is an award winning London based, social enterprise set up in 2009 for at risk, financially dis-advantaged and diverse youth in London interested in a career in TV.


So You Wanna Be In TV? address youth unemployment and the lack of diversity in TV through partnership with TV, Brands and corporates. They do this by providing access to high-quality free employability skills, work experience, long-term mentoring and direct access to the industry at their events.


This social enterprise uses an innovative sponsorship model to fund its projects. They raise sponsorship from TV, brands and corporates who want to recruit or engage with diverse communities. They also make corporate videos and provide expert media consulting to help fund their free employability skills training.


Sponsors include, ITN, ROCHAY GROUP, ITV, Talkback THAMES, Hat Trick and PromaxUK.


So You Wanna Be In TV? go into prisons, youth offending teams, schools, colleges, universities and community projects to find young people with a burning desire to work in television, giving them the tools and connections to make it happen. They work with: NEETs, the unemployed, ex-offenders, youth offending teams, schools, colleges, universities, homeless, disabled, ethnic minorities & white working class, aged 14 upwards.


Since September 2009:

1025 young people have passed through their programme

65% of those mentored entered the TV industry

£300k worth of sponsorship has been raised
